The company “PANORAMA” S.C. Leszek and Maria Staleńczyk received a grant from the European Union under the European Funds Programme for Podlaskie 2021-2027, Priority I “Research and innovation”, Measure 1.5 “Increasing the competitiveness of Podlasie enterprises”, Type: “Implementation of innovations in products/services and processes in SMEs (in order to start or increase exports)”, for the implementation of the project entitled “Diversification of the offer, increase in production capacity and growth in exports through automation, robotisation and digitisation of the cardboard packaging production process”.
Project objectives:
- Diversification of the company’s offer by introducing eco-innovative biodegradable and bio-compostable refined cardboard packaging to the company’s offer and the target market, which has not been produced to date and whose concept and manufacturing method are the result of research and development work carried out by the Beneficiary.
- Increase in the plant’s production capacity for refined packaging (including biodegradable refinements).
As a result of the project, the company’s customer base will expand significantly. In particular, it will include entities operating in the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries, which will place orders for packaging for their products. In addition, the group of new customers will also include manufacturing and production companies from other industries where the sale of products requires the use of cardboard packaging, and where ecological aspects, aesthetics and print quality are of significant importance.
The project involves the implementation of two tasks:
- Task 1. Extension and reconstruction of a production and service building (printing house) through the construction of a new production building.
- Task 2. Purchase, delivery, assembly and installation of machinery, equipment and software for the packaging production process.
Project outcomes:
- Implementation of organisational innovation – digitisation in the cardboard packaging production management process.
- Implementation of process innovation – implementation of new technology for the production of biodegradable and biocompostable refined cardboard packaging, as well as robotisation and automation of certain cardboard packaging production processes.
- Implementation of product innovation – eco-innovative biodegradable and bio-compostable refined cardboard packaging.
- Increase in revenue from diversification of the company’s offer through the introduction of product innovation: eco-innovative biodegradable and bio-compostable refined cardboard packaging and an increase in the plant’s production capacity for refined cardboard packaging (including biodegradable refinements).
- Increase in export revenues.
- Contribution to the growth of innovation in the region’s economy and technology transfer.
- Increased environmental awareness among the public.
- Implementation of Industry 4.0 measures and implementation of circular economy solutions.
